What is Kelp Jerky?
Kelp Jerky is a delicious protein-packed snack made of sustainably harvested sugar kelp and top quality shiitake and crimini mushroom stems from all over the Northeast. Kelp Jerky is vegan, and free of dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, and gluten.
Kelp Jerky is the first product from Beyond the Shoreline and our mission is to create the world's best tasting plant-based food products made from sustainably harvested, ocean seagreens.
We are proud to tell you that kelp jerky is a zero waste food product. We use kelp stipes and mushroom stems to make our jerky that would otherwise be thrown out but are still deliciously edible and nutritious.
Our first batch of Kelp Jerky will be ready in spring 2017 after we harvest our sugar kelp from Greenwave’s kelp farm in Connecticut.
